37 Days to Go!

The days are getting closer and I am getting more and more ready! Savannah is moving around and kicking me like crazy!  I wish I could see what she was actually doing in my belly because she is certainly full of energy!  We are getting ready to start packing "the bag" for the hospital.  It still seems early to me in my mind, but I know that we are getting so close that I better get things ready.  Plus, I am a planner, so I want everything to be in order! It won't be long before I have to let my planning and perfectionist tendencies go anyway.... lol.

Here is the latest picture from a few days ago at 34 weeks and 4 days! Crazy huh?  It's so amazing though to think about life and God's amazing creation.  I am in awe of him every time I feel her moving.  God is incredible and I can't wait to see what our little girls looks like!

New Picture!

Latest picture of the growing belly! This was taken at 32 weeks and a few days.

Baby Shower Blessings!

Since the end of February, I have had 3 baby showers! What a blessing it was so celebrate with so many family and friends.

The first shower was in Lockhart at our church. Amanda and Olivia hosted it, and they did such a great job! It was a storybook theme--perfect with my love of reading!

The second baby shower was in San Antonio and my cousins Lisa and Jenni hosted this one. The cake was so cute! It was made to match the Luv Bugs theme of Savannah's room!

This is a beautiful blanket my mom is making for Savannah! It is so sweet, I cried when I opened it! Thank you mom!

Chi Alpha Shower

The third shower was a Chi Alpha Shower. Stewart and I have been involved in Chi Alpha for almost 7 years now. What a blessing this ministry has been to us! A big thank you to all the beautiful ladies who hosted the shower (and to all the guys who came and brought diapers! =)

Only 46 days to go!

It's been a long time since I have posted an update on here! So we are 33 weeks and 3 days along now. We have about 6 1/2 weeks to go, and it is still not really sinking in! I am so excited, nervous, anxious... and just about every other emotion you could possibly think of! Savannah is getting more and more active by the day. At our last appointment on Monday, she was about 4 1/2 pounds, and I can feel everyone single pound! haha. She changes positions a lot, but it's quite entertaining. A few nights ago during a worship service, she got the hiccups for a about 10 minutes! It was so cute to feel her moving so rythmically. Anyway, I am going to appointments weekly now, so the time is going by really fast.

*Update: We bought our first house! We closed on our house on March 12. There is so much to do around the house that it's definitly keeping us busy! I love that I have a nursery for Savannah now.... it's certainly an upgrade from a one bedroom apartment!

The Countdown is getting shorter and shorter!

So we are finally into the third trimester, and I am getting more excited and anxious than ever! We are going to be 30 weeks this Wednesday, so we have just about 10 weeks to go!  I am amazed.  These are probably going to feel like the longest 70 days of my life! I can't wait to meet her!  Here is the belly picture from 29 weeks and 4 days! She is a little over 3 pounds now, and about 15 inches long!

We went to Austin for another 3D ultrasound at 29 weeks.  We were both in awe of her.  When we compare the 29 week pictures to the ones we got at 18 weeks, it's just amazing.  I have a more full album on Facebook, (http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2368087&id=29607320&l=ae6e5ccf07) but here are a few of our favorite pictures!

This was her favorite position during most of the ultrasound. She kept her arm right by her face, and she was resting her elbow on her knee.

Almost a smile! It was like a game for her... she wanted to see how long we'd wait for her to move!

She is sleeping away here....

We finally got to see her beautiful smile!

New Pictures at 26 weeks and 2 days!

So it was only one short week ago that I was telling Stewart "I still don't feel pregnant!  If it wasn't for her moving, I wouldn't even know I was!"  Well, now I am eating my words! Haha.  It appears that our baby girl has had a growth spurt!  Well, maybe not, but I sure have!  I am most definitely "feeling" pregnant now.  It's so amazing to feel her moving.  I can't even describe it.  Just wanted to update everyone with a few new pictures!

25 weeks and counting!

So Stewart is in El Paso for the next few days, and I am missing him like crazy! I think Savannah is too because she is kicking and moving a lot. She's needing some attention!  I think she wants him to talk to her like he does every day!  He is so sweet.

Things are staying busy on the baby-front.  We had our monthly ultrasound in Austin last friday and we finally got a great "girl" shot!....you know... one where I can see the "three white lines"..lol
We are going in monthly for growth and development scans due to my high blood pressure.  So far, she looks great!  It amazes me to see her every month.  I feel so blessed that I get to see her so much (though I could pass on the high blood pressure part)! She weighed 1lb 6oz on Friday, though I am certain she is already bigger!

We had another appointment in San Marcos on Monday with my doctors here, and I had my diabetes screening.  Much to my dismay, my first test results came back high, so now I have to do the 3-hour glucose tolerance test.  The sugary-drink they give you every hour for 3 hours is so nasty! Say a prayer that I pass and that I don't have gestational diabetes!

I can't really comprehend that we only have 15 weeks left.  I know that is going to fly by and that she will be here before we know it.  We can't wait to see her!  Until next time....

And we have a winner!

So we have decided on our baby girl's name...........drum roll please..........her name is:

* * * Savannah Grace * * *

We had so much fun picking out names! It's very different thinking of names you like and then seriously considering what you are going to name your first child! We actually got onto a baby name website and we each went through the top 600 names.  We each made a "favorites" list, and then went through each list, revealing one name at a time.  Surprinsinly, we had 2 names that matched on our list (though neither of them were Savannah! lol).  We both had Hannah and Katelynn on our lists.  I put Savannah on my list, and Stewart really liked Hannah.  Somehow Katelynn went right out the window and we settled on either Hannah or Savannah.  We both kind of let the names sink in for a little while, and eventually Stewart just starting calling her Savannah.  We both liked the middle name Grace, so that was going to be the middle name regardless.  Anyway, we have been calling her Savannah for several weeks now, and now we can't imagine calling her anything else!  We are so excited!

As of today, we are 23 weeks into this pregnancy! It feels like time has flown by! We waited so long to tell everyone and that seemed like an eternity, but now since then, time has passed by so quickly.  It's mind boggling to think that we are 17 weeks away from having a baby girl! She is definitely moving and kicking a lot these days!  It's so amazing to feel her move, and to try to comprehend how God created her.

We have our next ultrasound scheduled next Friday so we are both counting down the days until we get to see her again.  Pray with us for a great appointment and for a healthy wiggly baby!

It's getting late and I will post more later.... but I promised my favorite little cousin in the whole world that I would post her name tonight, so there you have it! Until next time!

We got the crib!

We are starting to make room for the baby!  Last weekend we bought the baby's crib, bedding and the mattress.  It's a 4-1 crib that has a changing table with drawers attached.  After the baby outgrows the crib, it turns into a toddler bed, and then into a headboard and footboard for a full size bed.  The changing table can then be detached and used as a nightstand.  It only took about an hour and half to put together.  It was a lot of fun!  The baby's colors are going to be purple and green.  I love the baby bedding!  The set is called "Luv Bugs." I couldn't pass it up!  Thanks to my mom and dad who helped us purchase the crib.  What a blessing!

Video Clips from the 3D/4D Ultrasound

Stewart edited the 15 minute DVD we have of the 3D/4D ultrasound down to a few of the best clips. It's starts in 2D for the gender determination, and then goes to 3D/4D after that.

During every ultrasound we have had so far, every doctor has told us "this is a really wiggly baby!" This one was no different! You can't see as many of the movements since we cut the length of the video down, but when we watched the video during the appointment, we got to see her from every possible angle because she kept wiggling around!

Christmas gifts and more for our Baby Girl!

Naturally everyone wanted us to find out before Christmas if we were having a boy or a girl (and of course we wanted to find out as well!).  We have already received a few things for our little baby girl!  Some of these items were given to us for Christmas and others have been from very sweet people who have blessed us so much!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Our first baby gift! Matt & PJ Burton were so sweet to give us this baby swing! It rotates so the baby can swing side to side or front to back. The mobile at the top also plays music too.

Stewart bought our baby girl her very first outfit! He gave it to me for Christmas!

We did a "Secret Santa" gift exchange at work and one of my co-workers bought most of the  baby items pictured here.  My sister Leanne gave me the turquoise and brown baby sling and Olivia (Stewart's sister) gave us the baby swaddler.  It's crazy for me to see all this stuff in our apartment! I have to remind myself it's for us and not for someone's baby shower!

Stewart's little sister Olivia bought us these two outfits!

3D/4D Ultrasound Pictures

We wanted to find out if we were having a boy or girl before Christmas, so we went to a 3D/4D Ultrasound place in Austin.  Ideally, most people take 3D/4D pictures around 26 weeks or later to get really good images, but we wanted to find out early, so we went anyway!  Although the pictures are not that clear, it's amazing to me what you can see at 18 weeks!

First "Belly" Picture!

Here is the first "belly" picture we took of me. In this picture I am about 17 weeks along. This is when I started showing for the first time.

More Ultrasound Pictures

In this ultrasound picture we are 7 weeks and 5 days long.
She is only 1cm long here! It's hard to believe.

This is at 9 weeks and 1 day.  She almost doubled
in size in a little over a week.  She's almost 2 whole
centimeters big! Haha.

In this picture, the baby is 10 weeks and 1 day old!
She is finally starting to look like a baby. Well, more
like a peanut, but that's ok!

First Ultrasound Pictures

In these pictures, the baby was the size of a sesame seed! It's amazing to think about the way God designs us!

At the request of a few... =)

So, we weren't sure about the whole blogging thing, but at the request of a few friends, we are going to start updating everyone on here about how things are going with the pregnancy. Hope you enjoy!

It's hard to believe we are already 20 weeks along now! We have already hit the half-way mark.  It feels like it was just yesterday that I was taking 4 tests to make sure I was really reading a positive sign! lol. We are beyond excited and we can't wait for this baby to be here already.

Our official due date is May 19, 2010.  We have about four and a half months to go, but the doctors are suspecting the baby may come a little early.  We are just praying for a healthy remainder of the pregnancy, and that the baby will arrive exactly when....SHE is supposed to!

That's right! It's A GIRL!!!! We are having a baby girl.  I couldn't believe my ears when the doctors told us.  I haven't asked Stewart yet if we can share the name, so I will save that for another day!  I will post a few pictures to update you on all that has happened since we found out on September 11, 2009. Until next time...
